Chapter 1087: I Wonder How the Shaws Feel

Chapter 1087: I Wonder How the Shaws Feel

"Grandma," Chase Fletcher turned his eyes and replied, "I originally thought it would be two daughters, so Rachel chose the names Aubrey and Wynne."

At this moment, the nurse placed the child in the cradle, then took Rachel Sherman’s temperature and registered it.

The elderly woman nodded, looked at the woman lying on the hospital bed, and gently asked, "Rachel, would you mind if Grandma gave the children names?"

Rachel felt honored, "Of course not, it’s a blessing for the babies and an honor for me."

Because Grandma had read many books, the names she gave to the mothers of Mrs. Shaw and Faye Turner, Summer Hughes, and Violet Hughes, were all particularly pleasant and meaningful.

Rachel directly responded to the elderly woman without even discussing it with Chase Fletcher.

The elderly woman was very happy to hear her response.

Because it was a natural birth, Rachel almost didn’t feel any discomfort after giving birth, and her abdomen no longer hurt.

Granny Hughes was full of energy, impeccably dressed, as if she had come prepared, "How about the brother being named Emmett Fletcher? It signifies grace and honor, auspicious and prosperous."

"Emmett Fletcher?" Chase Fletcher murmured the name, "A good name, Grandma."

Rachel eagerly asked, "And what about the sister?"

"The sister will be named Emily Fletcher." Grandma indeed favored girls, and when mentioning the sister, her kind eyes looked at the little baby sleeping in the cradle, "Grace and honor, beauty and elegance."

The couple exchanged a joyful glance, very happy and definitely satisfied with the names given by the elderly woman.

"I want to see the babies," Rachel said to Chase Fletcher, "Daddy, bring Emmett and Emily over."

"Okay."

At that moment, the two little babies were sound asleep in the cradle. After the nurse set up an IV for Rachel and gave some instructions, she turned to leave.

Only the Fletcher family was in the ward at that moment.

As Chase Fletcher got up to pick up the babies, Granny Hughes sitting in the chair spoke up, "Bring one over for me to hold?"

"Alright, Grandma."

So, Chase Fletcher first brought one baby to Grandma’s arms and then another to Rachel’s arm. Both little ones slept so sweetly; they were truly blessed.

Born into the Fletcher family, they had truly started life on the right foot.

Downstairs at the hospital.

After sending Faye Turner off, Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher took June to buy some pastries. The child, holding it in her hand, had eaten it down to a small piece, looking adorable and very satisfied.

On the way back, Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher passed through the lobby and ran into Mr. Shaw and Mrs. Shaw coming toward them.

Mr. Shaw’s leg hadn’t healed yet, a part of his pants was cut off, wrapped in thick bandages, and his foot was slightly lifted, unable to touch the ground.

He clutched a crutch under his arm, clearly inconvenienced, looking quite worn out.

Mrs. Shaw’s permed hair, either due to poor hair quality or lack of care, had grown out a bit, looking somewhat unruly.

Seeing the Fletcher family holding June, the couple paused for a moment.

June had completely forgotten what her grandparents looked like. Even when she saw them, her little face showed no reaction, as if looking at strangers, nestled in Mr. Fletcher’s arms.

Yet Mrs. Fletcher’s face darkened, as if seeing them brought bad luck! Summer Hughes rarely showed such an expression, as she had always been gentle.

Mr. and Mrs. Shaw had been having tough luck recently and couldn’t show off. A trace of guilt flashed in their eyes.

At this moment, a joyful voice came through—

"Summer! Charles! I just heard your daughter-in-law gave birth to twins? Congratulations!"

Turning towards the voice, it was old friends and classmates.

Mrs. Fletcher immediately broke into a smile, "Yes, yes, just born, they are fraternal twins! A boy and a girl! We have both now!"

These words made Mr. and Mrs. Shaw’s hearts sink.

"That’s absolutely wonderful!" The friend quickly came over to hug her, tightly holding her hand, her face full of joy, "Such good fortune! Congratulations!"

The two sisters-in-law exchanged pleasantries, and then the old classmate said—

"I’m here for a check-up in the hospital, and it’s done now. Let’s go, take me up to see your precious grandchildren!"

"This is also a precious granddaughter, take a look at her first!" Mrs. Fletcher said, pulling June’s hand, "Sweetie, say hello to Auntie Grandma!"
