Chapter 1073: Can’t Wait

Chapter 1073: Can’t Wait

"Please show me the payment code, I’ll scan it," the medical staff responded.

With a beep, the scan was successful, and soon a receipt was issued. Mr. Shaw and Mrs. Shaw were still in a state of disbelief.

Chase Fletcher took the receipt from the window, "Thank you," and then handed it to Mrs. Shaw.

Mrs. Shaw held the receipt, looking at him in disbelief, her expression quite intriguing.

The people behind, queuing to pay, were urging them, so Mrs. Shaw helped Mr. Shaw out of the line.

The couple, facing Chase Fletcher, didn’t quite know what to say for a moment; there had been such a big conflict before. He married their former daughter-in-law and is now June’s father... this role truly makes one grit their teeth in hate.

Yet, his actions just now were beyond grudges, offering help in a time of need.

Sorry, these three words were hard to say, and saying thank you seemed too thin, so they didn’t know what to say for the moment.

Chase Fletcher turned and walked toward Rachel Sherman, pulled her close by the shoulder, and led her toward the hall entrance.

Rachel Sherman did not look back.

Mrs. Shaw held the slip in her hand, watching their backs, which looked both happy and well-matched.

"Ah!" Mr. Shaw, with an injured left leg, sighed heavily as he watched the scene.

Mrs. Shaw’s weary face remained furrowed at the brows, and her heart was a mix of emotions.

On the way back, Rachel Sherman sat in the passenger seat, Chase Fletcher driving, neither of them speaking.

The recent events indeed affected their moods; certain people and things instantly surfaced in their minds.

Chase Fletcher feared she might recall sad memories, so he held her hand tightly with their fingers interlocked while the other hand remained on the steering wheel.

Rachel Sherman came back to her senses and turned to look at the man driving.

He asked her, "What do you want for lunch? Want to eat out?"

"How about fish?" If she said anything would be fine, he’d surely worry about her mood, so she suggested it.

Then the conversation revolved around where to eat fish and what kind of fish, and as the topic shifted, the atmosphere in the car changed too.

In the evening, the Lamborghini parked in the villa’s courtyard, Adrian Lancaster came home from work.

Faye Turner hadn’t taken the child today; apart from eating, she stayed in the design studio on the fourth floor, designing a suit for her husband, feeling his goodness and wanting to give him a gift.

Mrs. Rhodes merely sent up some fruit and snacks without disturbing her.

After hours of hard work, a custom suit was completed.

The suit hung on the hanger, the beautiful sunset spilled through the window, shining on the freshly pressed fabric, crisp and shaped.

Faye Turner admired it beside her, not a single flaw, extremely satisfied with this work.

Downstairs, Adrian Lancaster had just stepped into the living room, before he could open his mouth to ask where his wife was, Mrs. Rhodes joyfully informed him—

"Sir, sir, Mrs. has been in the studio designing clothes for you today! She said she wants to give you a gift."

"For me?" Adrian Lancaster almost thought he heard wrong, "It should be for Joy, right?"

"No, no, no, it’s for you, for sure, she made it for you!" Mrs. Rhodes was full of joy and urged him, "Quick, go up! I guess it’s already done."

Hearing this, Adrian Lancaster was as happy as a child, and he rushed upstairs!

When he reached the studio door, the woman standing in front of the hanger turned upon hearing him, their eyes met.

She stood by the window, in the backlight, her beauty making his heart melt.

Adrian Lancaster’s heart raced, a smile on his face, a little breathless, he paused briefly at the door, then walked towards her!

Impatient! Thrilled beyond measure!
