Chapter 220: Can You Restrain Yourself a Little?
Chapter 220: Can You Restrain Yourself a Little?
"Wow, you’re just too cute! Smells so good, smells so good!"
Kaelan and Isaac froze simultaneously, turning to look at Seraphina.
Both instinctively tensed up, stepping back half a step.
Only to see her eyes sparkling, cheeks flushed, staring at Evan like she accidentally inhaled Seductive Powder.
Only Wyatt knew something was up with Evan and immediately knocked him on the head.
"Can’t you control yourself a bit?"
Only then did Evan realize he got too excited and forgot to restrain his power.
The Silver Mirage Fox clan naturally exudes a charming allure.
He almost forgot about it and got carried away for a moment.
Seraphina was already swooning, with stars in her eyes, face flushed like a boiled shrimp.
She snuggled into Evan’s arms, nuzzling nonstop.
Evan quickly withdrew that aura, returning to normal and catching the limp Seraphina.
Seraphina took a moment to regain some consciousness, thinking she fell into her familiar lovestruck state.
But this time, it felt particularly odd, as if her head was in the clouds.
She looked up at Evan, still finding him stunning.
Unable to resist, she hugged his face and planted a kiss.
Her teeth gently bit his cheek, leaving a faint mark.
She didn’t think too much, driven purely by instinct.
Only after did she realize what she had done and quickly retracted her neck.
Kaelan and the others quietly stepped back, feeling somewhat uneasy.
No wonder Ignis used to get a headache when he saw Evan’s dad.
The atmosphere among the group suddenly became delicate.
Seraphina originally planned to rest on Wyatt’s back.
Thinking she could cool down with Wyatt’s cold skin and save some energy.
But Evan, sulking with grievance, insisted that Seraphina hadn’t seen him transformed before and begged her to ride on his back.
He stood in front of Seraphina with drooped shoulders, eyes fixed on the ground.
"You’ve never seen my true form, not even once."
He paused, looking up at her.
"I want you to see it."
Seraphina had no choice but to agree.
After speaking, she raised her hand to touch her nape.
Feeling a bit sticky due to heat.
She wasn’t actually worried about Evan’s condition, just felt there was no need for a special showcase.
Evan’s face lit up instantly, and he walked briskly, eager to get back so he could show off to his friends.
He carried Seraphina on his back, his pace lively.
He frequently glanced at Seraphina lying on his back, his smile never fading.
Isaac followed along with Wyatt, feeling a mix of emotions.
Seraphina felt warm all over while lying on Evan’s back.
Sleepiness surged, and she drifted off into slumber.
Not long after, her arms relaxed, her entire body loosening.
Evan noticed she was fast asleep and immediately slowed his steps.
With darkness falling, Kaelan picked an appropriate spot to stop.
The group quietly waited for Seraphina to wake naturally.
There was no fire yet, and the light gradually faded.
As soon as Seraphina opened her eyes, she found everyone staring at her.
Her neck felt sore, her shoulders stiff, like she had been curled up too long.
Evan helped her stand up, and as she stretched, her stomach churned suddenly.
A sour sensation rushed from her stomach to her throat.
She promptly covered her mouth, her face turning slightly pale.
Kaelan and the others hurriedly gathered around.
Kaelan stepped forward briskly, kneeling down, lightly patting her back.
Isaac stood by the side, looking at her nervously, holding a water bottle but hesitating to hand it over.
Wyatt stood a bit farther away, frowning, his gaze focused on Seraphina’s wrist.
Evan looked guilty, thinking he was to blame.
"Stomach upset? Did I jolt you too much with my rush?"
Seraphina took a breath, patting her chest.
"It’s alright, alright, probably ate something wrong. Let’s go back to the storage room, I’ll find some medication."
Evan and Isaac quickly prepared some food.
Seraphina pulled out a heap of stomach medicine, bottles all over the table, studying the instructions one by one.
Her stomach wasn’t hurting, nor was she having diarrhea.
Just nausea and wanting to vomit, unsure what to take.
While staring blankly at the medicine in her hand, Evan brought over a bowl of warm millet porridge.
"Drink a little to warm your stomach first, save the other stuff for when you feel better."
Evan gently placed the bowl on the table, with faint white steam rising from the rim.
"Drink it while it’s hot, don’t let it cool."
Seraphina put the medicine down, took the porridge Evan handed her.
Just as she brought it to her mouth, her nose twitched, subconsciously sniffing.
The scent wafting through the air irritated her nostrils, making her instinctively frown.
"Ugh—"
The sound abruptly squeezed out from her throat.
Her vision blurred instantly, her ears buzzing.
She crouched down directly, hands on her knees, coughing uncontrollably.
The blood drained from her face then flushed back, her breathing erratic and hurried.
Kaelan stepped forward quickly.
"How about I take you back to the village right away? We’ll find Zoe for a check-up? We can reach there by night."
Seraphina waved her hand, feeling somewhat assured.
She calmed down, fingertips lightly probing her own pulse.
Her body was generally irregular, with her periods always unpredictable.
Being early by ten days or late by half a month was common.
She eventually became too lazy to remember the exact dates.
She closed her eyes for a moment to sense her pulse, then suddenly opened them, placing a hand on her belly.
Beneath her skin, there was no noticeable swelling, the surface still flat.
But the instant her heart skipped, it hammered a bit harder.
It’s true, she was indeed pregnant.
Isaac stood dumbfounded on the side, not understanding a thing.
Yet the other three had already caught on, realizing Seraphina was pregnant.
Their faces lit up with joy, happy for her, but none considered themselves involved.
Their initial reaction was, it must be Isaac’s kid, right?
Evan stared at Isaac, his gaze burning, feeling insanely jealous.
Isaac felt uneasily while everyone watched him, running off inexplicably to the reservoir to check his reflection.
"What’s up? Do I have food stuck on my face or pimples?"
Seraphina was about to say something.
But seeing him suddenly run off to check himself, she was dumbfounded.
"What’s wrong with him?"
Seraphina asked, utterly confused.
Kaelan and Wyatt shook their heads simultaneously.
Both were pursing their mouths, seemingly containing some emotion.
Evan snorted, annoyed: "Why else? Probably got too happy!"
Isaac slowly returned from the reservoir, baffled.
"Why are you all staring at me? I didn’t sneak any dinner."
Seraphina fixed her gaze on him.
"I’m pregnant."
Isaac’s eyes widened, rushing over excitedly.
"Really?! Is it mine?"
He grabbed Seraphina’s arm, his grip strong enough to make her sway a bit.
Seraphina recalled, she’d only been with Isaac for about ten days.
The time was too short, probably didn’t match up.
Plus, those days by the seaside, Evan was constantly around her, thoroughly attached.
She pondered, most likely the child was Evan’s.
But if it was truly Evan’s, calculating by the pregnancy timeline, it should be fifty to fifty-two days along.
By now, her belly should be showing a bit, but there was no sign at all.
Eventually, it would become obvious, arguing now was pointless.
She looked at Isaac, full of expectation, and spoke frankly.
"Probably not yours; I’m not sure either. It’ll be clear after the baby is born."
Seraphina’s tone was calm as she spoke, not avoiding his gaze.
