Chapter 836 - 861: Short Skit (1)
Sister Lilian?
Koa Jackson glanced at Mia Ginger, then at Lilian Jackson, and said calmly, "You didn’t have to go to such trouble."
"It’s the right thing to do." Lilian shrugged, looking sincere. "I couldn’t come back for your wedding, so bringing a gift is the least I could do. It’s a token of my good intentions, remember to wear it."
Koa Jackson: "..."
Mia saw the confusion on his face and explained, "Sister Mia gave us matching couple watches."
"Is that so?" Koa nodded, "Thank you."
His demeanor clearly showed he didn’t want to talk much.
Mia felt that his attitude towards Lilian was indeed a bit cold, and she felt a little embarrassed, forcing a smile.
Lilian, however, seemed unfazed and said directly, having given the gifts, "I’ll head back now. It’s been a while since I’ve been back, and I need to spend some time talking to my dad. I’m so tired, I just slept since I got back."
"Goodbye, Sister Lilian."
"Mm."
Koa and Mia escorted her out of the study.
As they watched her graceful figure gradually disappear, Mia turned to Koa with a puzzled look and asked, "You don’t seem to like Sister Lilian much? What’s going on?"
"Don’t you remember her?" Koa looked into her clear eyes.
"Hmm." Mia frowned, thinking. "Doesn’t seem to have much of an impression. Is it because they’re your family? I don’t remember many things related to you very clearly, including people..."
As she spoke, she raised her hand to scratch her head again.
Koa felt a mix of emotions, and instinctively held her hand as they walked inside.
As they walked, he said, "You used to have a disagreement with her, so I didn’t quite like her either."
"Me, with her?" Mia was taken aback, then chuckled, "Why? She seems like a nice person, not the type to start conflicts. Did I do something unforgivable?"
"..." Koa was at a loss for words.
He couldn’t very well say it was because Lilian liked him and made things difficult for her, could he?
Firstly, after the initial difficulty, Lilian hadn’t really done anything else. She was quite aloof and probably had let go of her feelings for him.
Secondly, those events weren’t particularly pleasant, better to just let them be forgotten.
Koa smiled slightly, pinched her cheek and said, "It’s nothing, really. It wasn’t your fault, and it’s not a big deal. If you’ve forgotten, just let it be."
"You don’t want to tell me again?" Mia raised her eyebrows high.
Koa chuckled, "I don’t want to talk about it."
"You’re so annoying!" Mia couldn’t help but glare at him again.
"Why are you squirming?" Koa suddenly pulled her by the neck, lowered his head and said, "Let me give you a kiss."
Mia: "..."
Her face suddenly turned bright red.
——
The warm yellow sunlight filtered through the floor-to-ceiling windows, enveloping the two people in an embrace.
Time stood still.
——
After dinner.
Mia wandered around the garden to digest her food.
