Chapter 342: He Lost Control
Chapter 342: He Lost Control
Dominique hastily grabbed him by his collar.
"What did you just say?! Albert Williams was not there! Hahaha!"
He let out a humorless chuckle before stabbing the gang leader’s palm, twisting the dagger. His loud scream echoed in the prison cell.
"Have you gone nuts? Still trying to lie just to buy some time? I’m not blind. I was there. And I clearly saw Albert Williams with my own eyes! Do you think you can trick me using your lies?!"
The gang leader shook his head, still groaning in pain.
"N-No... I’m not lying. The person you saw that night was not the real Albert Williams. He was being impersonated by his brother– Alfonso Williams!" The gang leader dropped a shocking revelation.
Dominique froze in his spot upon hearing that.
Seeing his reaction, the man continued his explanation.
"Alfonso William wore a disguise, making your father believe that he was Albert Williams. He was jealous of your father, so he sabotaged the deal between them. He killed your family so that he could own your father’s proposal."
"Alfonso lied to his brother. Albert Williams had nothing to do with your family’s death. He knew from the start that you were seeking revenge. So he chose to ally with you against his brother, Albert. He wanted to claim his brother’s company! In fact, he was the one who ordered me to kidnap Vladimir’s woman to reclaim William’s Company!"
Dominique’s face turned pale instantly at his revelation. He was shocked beyond belief. All this time, he resented Albert Williams. He deceived him and hurt his daughter, Sabrina... all for his revenge.
Dominique even disregarded his feelings toward Sabrina just to fulfill his revenge. And now, he would find out that the real culprit behind his family’s death was Alfonso Williams– the same person who worked with him to bring down Albert and stole the company from Enzo and Sabrina.
His mind was in turmoil right now as he staggered backward. He felt like every ounce of his energy was drained from him.
"I targeted the wrong person... Sabrina’s father... is innocent..." he mumbled, his voice filled with regret.
His beliefs suddenly crumbled, shattering his whole being into tiny pieces. He committed a big mistake in his life. It was something he could no longer correct. And he would forever regret it... until his death.
"Now... you learn the truth. Alfonso Williams is a master of scheme and manipulation. He deceived you, making you believe that Albert was the real culprit."
The gang leader continued to negotiate with him. "Spare my life, I am willing to testify against Alfonso, so you can have the justice you want."
Dominique couldn’t handle this revelation. His mind was unstable. In a flash, Dominique swung his dagger, stabbing the gang leader’s stomach multiple times.
Even Miguel was shocked the moment he witnessed that. His adoptive son had gone nuts, continuously stabbing the gang leader. The blood splattered on his face and his clothes.
Miguel had no choice but to intervene. He quickly called the guards, then he grabbed Dominique from behind.
"Dom! Stop it! You are giving him an easy death! Don’t kill him just yet!"
Miguel’s voice couldn’t reach him. Dominique struggled to break free from him. His childhood trauma returned, and he lost his mind. He started attacking Miguel. He cut his arm. Fortunately, the wound was not deep.
Soon, the guards arrived. They quickly sprang to action, apprehending Dominique.
"Knock him out!" Miguel commanded.
The guard followed his order, hitting Dominique’s neck. The impact knocked him down instantly.
"Call the doctors. Try to save that man. He must live." Miguel uttered his second command, pointing his finger at the gang leader who was bathing in his own blood.
"Bring Dominique to my room," he added.
The guard who was carrying Dominique ran into Vladimir and Sabrina in the hallway.
"Dominique!" Sabrina gasped upon seeing him unconscious, along with the blood on his face and clothes.
"What happened to him?" Sabrina asked the guard worriedly.
Vladimir just stood in silence, darting his gaze back and forth between Sabrina and Dominique.
’She is worried about him.’ He thought, clenching his fists.
The guard hesitated to give them an answer.
"Answer her!" Vladimir commanded.
"I’m sorry, Sir... but I have to follow the Master’s order. Mr. Dominique suddenly lost control during the interrogation. He stabbed the leader of the kidnappers. Don Miguel tried to intervene. But he also attacked him. Don Miguel got hurt. He ordered us to knock him down." The guard explained.
"But don’t worry. Mr. Dominique didn’t sustain any serious injury. I will bring him to the Master’s room first."
Vladimir just nodded, allowing the guard to leave. Then he shifted his attention back to Sabrina.
"Let’s ask my father what really happened. I want to check his injury."
Sabrina bobbed her head as she followed Vladimir.
When they entered the prison cell, they saw the medical team trying to revive the man. Then they quickly took him out using the stretcher. They would rush him to their private clinic.
Miguel was also there. A nurse was tending to his cut wound when Vladimir and Sabrina approached him.
"What’s going on here? Did the man confess? Who is the mastermind behind Sabrina’s kidnapping incident?" Vladimir asked his father expectantly.
Miguel didn’t respond right away. He just stared at Sabrina intently. He heard the whole conversation between Dominique and the kidnapper.
He was aware that Dominique lost control because his mental state wasn’t strong enough to accept the truth. He hated Sabrina’s father. He even betrayed the woman he loved... only to find out that her father was innocent.
"Alfonso Williams. Your Uncle is the mastermind," Miguel finally gave them the answer they were seeking. But he never mentioned anything related to Dominique’s past.
"Damn! I knew it! That man is so greedy! I’m gonna make him pay for this!" Vladimir declared through his gritted teeth.
But Miguel shot him a warning glare. "Don’t touch him. He is not your prey! Dominique will be the one to deal with him."
After saying that, Miguel walked past them.
Sabrina still wanted to ask something about Dominique, but it seemed that Miguel didn’t want to entertain them.
"Sab, I think we got our answer. Let’s go home for now."
Sabrina stayed rooted in her spot. She was reluctant to leave because of Dominique. She wondered if he was just fine. What caused him to lose control?
Sabrina was clueless that the leader of the kidnappers had something to do with Dominique’s tragic past.
"Sab?" Vladimir called her once again since Sabrina was spacing out. "Are you okay? Is there something wrong?"
His voice finally caught her attention. Sabrina apologized right away.
"I’m sorry, V. I’m just a little bit distracted. Too much blood in here..." she said as an alibi.
"Yes. That’s why we should go."
Vladimir quickly grabbed her hand, escorting her out of the prison cell. He was glad that they came late. Sabrina wasn’t able to witness a gruesome scene.
As they stepped out of the secret base, Sabrina’s mind was still preoccupied by Dominique.
’What happened to him? Why do I feel like something triggered him to lose control? I want to know the reason.’
"V... Can I stay longer? I want to talk to your father and ask him something."
Vladimir didn’t have the heart to refuse her. "Okay. Let’s stay here for a moment."
